The journey from Escalante to Cedar City is approximately 120 miles. Driving is the only practical method, following UT-12 West and UT-14 West. This route takes you through some of the most scenic landscapes in Southern Utah, including the Dixie National Forest. The drive is beautiful but requires careful attention to road conditions, especially in winter. Cedar City is known as the gateway to the national parks and home to the Utah Shakespeare Festival.
