The drive from Sunnyvale to Lake Tahoe is approximately 200 miles and takes about 4 hours. You will head north on I-680 to I-80 East, climbing into the Sierra Nevada mountains. This route is beautiful but can be challenging in winter due to snow. Expect significant traffic on Friday afternoons and Sunday evenings during the ski season.
